DUCTILITY
TESTING MACHINE: IS 1208
For determining ductility of asphalt bitumen and fluxed native asphalt,
cut bitumen and blown type bitumen. It consists of a bath thermostatically
controlled with inlet and outlet taps. Fixed moveable brackets are so
positioned that specimen is submerged in water throughout. Two rates of
pull 50 mm/min and 10 mm/min are incorporated |

MARSHALL
STABILITY TEST APPARATUS
For the measurement of the resistance to plastic flow of cylindrical specimens
of bituminous pouring mixture loaded on the lateral surface. This is for
use with hot mixtures containing asphalt or tar and aggregates up to 1"
maximum size.

STANDARD
PENETROMETER
For testing of a wide variety of materials such as grease, bitumen, tar,
wax, polish, rubber, asphalt and pharmaceutical Creams. By applying a
given force over a given period of time depression is made in the sample
which may be measured in tenth of a millimeter and expressed as a penetration

BITUMEN
EXTRACTOR
The Bitumen Extractor comprises of a heavy duty cast iron gear box also
serving as base having helical gear set operating in oil. The aluminum
housing is provided on the vertical shaft housed in the assembly, which
rotates at very high speed, when the handle is rotated. The upper cover
of the housing and bowl can be removed easily. The portions of the housing
are held securely by means of two L-shaped clamps and bolts. The apparatus
can be bolted to the work table by means of four bolts. |

RING
AND BALL APPARATUS
For determining the temperature at which a sample of bituminous material
drops a specified distance when heated under prescribed conditions and
loaded by 3/8" diameter steel ball. Two simultaneous test can be
carried out.

BANKELMAN
BEAM
This utilizes the technique of using a balanced beam in conjunction with
a suitable vehicle to measure road flexure and was first developed by
the U.S.Bureau of Public Roads.
The principle is that a long beam resting on a road surface at one end
and balanced at a point to give a ratio of 2.1 will magnify small deflections
caused by loadings adjacent to the end of the beam in contact with the
road.. By using a stable platform adjacent to the other end of the beam,
this small movement can be measured very accurately. It is light weight
and can be separated in two parts for ease of transportation.
It includes a dial gauge 0.01 X 25mm and a buzzer
