Extractors
The removal of soil cores from sampling tubes must be accomplished with the minimum of disturbance, particularly when small specimens have to be prepared from a large sample in order to carry out strength tests. Large extrusion forces, used indiscriminately, will compress soil resulting in false valves of shear strength and consolidation.
