Mechnical Properties Of Aggregates

AGGREGATE IMPACT VALUE APPARATUS:IS 9377; 2386 (IV)
It is used for determining the aggregate impact value and is designed as per IS: 2386 (Pt. IV). The sturdy construction consists of a base and support columns to form a rigid frame work around the quick release trigger mechanism to ensure an effective free fall of the hammer during test. The fall can be adjusted and the hammer is provided with a locking arrangement. The apparatus is supplied complete with metal measure and tamping rod. Apparatus available with / without blow counter.

AGGREGATE CRUSHING VALUE APPARATUS:IS 9376
Consists of a both end open cylinder, base plate a plunger with handle and tamping rod.
SIZES
C 9.1 3" dia for 1/8" to 1/4" size aggregates.
C 9.2 6" dia for 3/8" to 3/4" size aggregates.
C 9.3 12" dia for 1" to 2" size aggregates.

DEVAL ABRASION TESTING MACHINE:IS 2386 (IV)
For the determination of resistance of aggregates to wear by abrasion . Two hollow cylinder, close at one end and with tight fitting covers at the other end are mounted on a shaft at an angle 30 deg. with the axis of rotation. The shaft rotates at 30-33 R.P.M.

LOS ANGELES ABRASION TESTING MACHINE-IS: 2386 (Pt. IV)
This machine is for determining the resistance to wear of small size coarse aggregates and crushed rock. The machine consists of a hollow cylinder mounted on a sturdy frame on ball bearings. A detachable shelf which extends through of the drum catches the abrasive charge and does not allow it to fall on the cover. The drum is rotated at a speed of 30-33 RPM by an electric motor coupled to a reduction gear box. Supplied complete with abrasive charge and a tray for collection of material.

LABORATORY BALL MILL:IS 4031
This is used for grinding samples to a near powder form for the use of laboratory purposes. The machine consists of a hollow cylinder mounted on a sturdy frame on ball bearings, which is rotated at a speed of 30 - 33 RPM by an electric motor coupled to a reduction gear box.

DORRY ABRASION TESTING MACHINE:IS 2386
The machine is useful for determining the resistance of aggregates to wear by abrasion. Two specimens can be mounted at a time and kept loaded by weights against a machined flat circular grinding surface. The disc rotates at 28-30 rpm., two funnels release a continuous flow of sand in front of each specimens. A tray with an outlet placed under the disc facilitates the removal of sand.
